Supporting refinery wastewater treatment

Pielkenrood supplied eight large crossflow plate packs for existing oil–water separators at Shell’s Scotford refinery in Canada. The project focused on the internal equipment used in refinery wastewater separation.

Crossflow separation technology

Crossflow plate packs provide surfaces for oil droplets to collect and rise while settleable solids move downwards. This configuration supports the simultaneous separation of oil and solids from the wastewater stream.

Equipment for existing installations

The documented scope comprised the supply of eight plate packs for several existing separators. This approach enables specialist separation internals to be incorporated into treatment equipment already on site.
